Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie starrer Barbie hit the world by storm after the astounding box office collection of the movie broke several records. Following the 2023 blockbuster, Gosling joined Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt— coincidently Barbenheimer members— in The Fall Guy, but fans are not over the Barbie craze.
Recently, Gosling made his superfan’s day, who brought a Western Ken Funko Pop action figure as he met Gosling. The actor once again proved that he is a pure gentleman and the fan will cherish the memory of one of the greatest moments of his life.
Ryan Gosling Made The Day Of His Fan With A Kind Gesture
Ryan Gosling was recently spotted outside the Grove Theatre in LA, and a die-hard fan of the actor approached him for a signature on his brand new Western Ken Funko Pop action figure. Despite his team’s advice not to interact with fans in public, the Barbie star signed on the Ken figurine. The fan, who shared his experience on his X page, revealed his experience of the moment.
“I met freaking RYAN GOSLING !! He really is just Ken super cool guy, he saw I was the only one there and when I asked for an autograph, his team was telling to get in his car and his response was ‘No I’ll Sign, I’ll Sign’ and he started walking to me like Ho-Lee-Crap Imao I should have asked for a picture but it already felt like he did the most by autographing my Western Ken Funko Pop!, if you see this Ryan, THANK YOU! Huge fan and hope to see you again!” eladioxperez said via Ryan Gosling Daily Page.
Gosling as Ken in Barbie received appreciation from fans across the globe while being a critical darling for the wonderful portrayal of the Mattel doll alongside Margot Robbie’s Barbie. Gosling also received an Oscar nod for his role in the film.
Ryan Gosling Was Previously Criticized For Playing Ken
Fans had a hard time having faith in Gosling as he was cast in Barbie. Fans have criticized the actor reasoning that his age would be a factor to represent the popular Ken. Of course, Gosling was the first actor to play the live-action version of the iconic Mattel doll. The actor addressed the criticism while speaking with GQ.
“I would say, you know, if people don’t want to play with my Ken, there are many other Kens to play with. It is funny…this kind of clutching-your-pearls idea of, like, #notmyken. Like you ever thought about Ken before this? But suddenly, it’s like, ‘No, we’ve cared about Ken this whole time.’ No, you didn’t. You never did. You never cared. Barbie never f–ked with Ken. That’s the point. If you ever really cared about Ken, you would know that nobody cared about Ken. So, your hypocrisy is exposed. This is why his story must be told.”
For Gosling, his version of Ken is closely relatable to him. “I feel like I was very quick to distance myself from him when I started making more serious films,” he told the outlet. But the reality is that “like, he’s the reason I have everything I have,” he added. Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie grossed over $1 billion (per Variety) at the global box office.
Barbie is available to stream on Max.
