The one person in her life who was most excited at the time of the film’s release was her husband, as she said to Kimmel. She revealed that her mother thought the film had some relation to architecture.

“I think my mom, she’s watching Korean telenovelas now. I don’t know why, she’s Mexican,” Hayek said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “And for her, it’s like some Marvel movie.”

She continued that her mother asked, “A Marvel movie, is it about architecture?” I was like, “No! No! I’m a superhero.” Though her mother wasn’t much aware of the franchise, she pointed out that her father was a little bit more into the genre.
