When Adam McKay sat for an interview with Mental Floss, he shared some exclusive facts about his 2010 comedy The Other Guys. Even though the movie isn’t significant like other McKay comedies such as Anchorman or Talladega Nights, it has developed a fan following over the years.

The fans saw one of the most shocking and hilarious scenes in the movie when Christopher Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and P.K. Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) jumped from a rooftop to their death. According to the Oscar-winning filmmaker, that particular scene from The Other Guys will always stay on his list of favorite moments from his movies.

“I would say the family prayer scene in Talladega Nights, the Jenga tower scene in The Big Short, the other one was in Anchorman, when Jack Black kicks the dog off the bridge where the audience made this weird sound and were so stunned by it. And then Danson and Highsmith jumping off the building —oh my god, I had so much fun watching that with test audiences. No one saw it coming.”

The scene occurs as the two cops played by The Rock and Jackson reach a rooftop while chasing some criminals before jumping to their doom. As admitted by McKay, the “Aim for the bushes” scene gave a “tingle in his b*lls”. He explained that the audience never thought that stars like Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson wouldn’t be able to survive the fall.

“You would hear people in the audience go, ‘Yeah right, they would never survive that.’ But when they hit, there was such a collective inhale from the whole audience, and then just explosion of laughter.”

The most hilarious part about the scene was how it raised hype among the fans for an epic action sequence before taking the exact opposite way.
