Actress Gwyneth Paltrow might be a bit of a diva but there is one thing none of us can deny; she was the best choice to bring Marvel’s Pepper Potts to life. Ever since she started off her Marvel Cinematic Universe journey in 2008 with Iron Man, she has been heavily nominated for her brilliant performance.

A side-by-side comparison of Gwyneth Paltrow with Marvel Comics’ Pepper Potts is enough proof that the role went to the right place. But did you know that Gwyneth Paltrow did not achieve the sleek redheaded look by dyeing her natural blonde hair? Yes, she used wigs for the films, and no, not everyone around her was a fan of the temporary change.

Gwyneth Paltrow tied the knot with the lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, in 2003, just a year after first meeting each other. They went on to have two children together, Apple, who was born in 2004, and Moses who was born in 2006.  While they might have looked like the perfect family, the couple announced their separation in 2014. Currently, she is married to producer Brad Falchuk.

Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, would sometimes visit her mother on the sets of the Iron Man movies but didn’t stick around for long as the actress believed it could get scary for a little girl. Talking to Cinema.com, Paltrow stated,

“Yes, Apple visited. She came for lunch and that kind of thing, but she wasn’t around the big set pieces or anything like that. Some of the sets would have been a bit scary for her.”

When asked if her daughter liked seeing her in the Pepper Potts wig, she laughed, “No. Actually, she didn’t like it. She prefers me as a blonde.” Well, given the fact that Apple sees her mother as a blonde a majority of the time, we can see why she’d prefer her natural look. We can’t blame her either; Paltrow’s blonde hair is absolutely stunning on her!

Talking about how she manages her two young children along with the responsibilities of being an actress, Paltrow stated at the time that she only did one film every nine months and was very selective about what project she chose to give her time to. Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man was the perfect film as it fulfilled every single requirement the actress had at that time.

“I’m a lot more selective with work these days. My perfect plan is to do one movie every nine months. It would have to be a project that I found inspiring. It would also have to include other actors and a director I am inspired to work with. That’s why I did Iron Man. I could tick all of the boxes.”

Iron Man then went on to make $585 million at the worldwide box office. The chemistry between Paltrow’s Pepper and Downey’s Tony is one of the most beloved elements in the franchise, something which stayed constant till Tony’s heroic death in Avengers: Endgame
