Arrowhead Game Studio had recently announced that their merch facilities are under attack and players must join their hands together to set it free from the Automatons. Following this announcement, Helldivers 2 players went on an all-out interstellar war and managed to free the planet of Tien Kwan from Automatons.
This feat has been achieved in a remarkable time frame and the developers have officially confirmed it. Due to this, players will be able to use some new armored mechs in the game.
Helldivers 2 players get new mechs
As a piece of good news to players, the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit is now free for all players for a brief period of time, thanks to the community’s win. This means that exosuit will not occupy a stratagem slot and can be called in even if the players haven’t unlocked it. This will allow them to test out the exosuit before using Requisitions on it, and it also makes it simple for everyone in the community to play around with the new toy.
The bipedal walker EXO-45 Patriot will be of great help to players it comes with a minigun on its right and rocket pods on its left hard point.
In the game, these Exosuits represent a brand-new class of stratagem. They come as the first set of wheels in the game and by using them, the players will be able to get a major boost in strength, adaptability, and speed over airstrikes and support weapons.
Helldivers 2 player Morgan Park has used the new merch and has good things to say about it. The player had used the merch on difficulty levels 5 and 6 and it is overpowered against standard bug grunts and occasional Charger. Things do change is level 6 but this is not something that the merch cannot handle.
Using Helldivers 2 merch against Automatons
Fans are absolutely loving the addition of the mech but feel that it is effective only against the bugs as it takes just a single rocket hit to blow them into space. Many feel that the mechs are useless against Automatons.
However, this is not completely true as players can still use the mech to their advantage against the Automatons if they go by the following rules.
Be careful of rockets
The rockets are the worst enemy of the players using the merch. It is highly possible that players may lose their merch during an Automaton mission by the hits of these flying rockets. Players should also be careful and not launch their own rockets at point-blank range.
Save the ammo
Players only get access to a limited amount of ammunition i.e. 14 rockets and 1,000 minigun bullets. They therefore need to keep constant track of their ammo while going against the Automatons as there will be no resupply of the ammos.
Good aim
Players need to work on their aiming skills as they only need three rockets to destroy an Automaton tank. Moreover, if players manage to get a hit at the weak spots of these tanks, they can get the job done with even less than three rockets.
Use the sniping method
Players using the merch by now should know that the Patriot weapons are highly accurate and come with some decent firing range. This makes the job a bit easier for the players as they can snip their enemies from far away, giving them a huge advantage.
Use the Armor
Players can always use an exosuit even if it runs out dry. They can make use of the dry exosuit as an armor and use it against the hordes to save themselves from personal damage. However, they should keep in mind that they need to drop the exosuit as soon as smoke starts coming out of it, as this is when it will go up in flames.
