No Way Home: 10 Candidates For The Mystery ‘Sinister Sixth’ Villain Not Shown In The Trailer

No Way Home has Doc Ock, Electro, Green Goblin, Sandman, and the Lizard. MCU might be hiding a secret sixth villain they didn’t show in Spider-Man: No Way Home’s trailer.

The obvious choice seems to be Mysterio. Quentin Beck’s questionable death in the last Spider-Man movie has got fans thinking. Many claim Jake Gyllenhaal’s character never died but merely faked it. So there is all the more reason to believe it. Mysterio could easily become the secret hidden villain that forms the last link in the Sinister Six.

Paul Giamatti was a very odd choice to play the role of Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. We felt cheated when we realized the villain got so little screen time. A live action Rhino came in the form of a mechanical suit worn by Giamatti. It was interesting, to say the least. We already have two villains from the Amazing Spider-Man movies. Giamatti’s Rhino could be the third leg of that trio.

In the classic Spider-Man animated series of 1994, Shocker was a recurring villain. And he got surprisingly good ratings back then. The viewers loved him. Flash-forward to more than two decades and Homecoming’s Shocker became such a letdown. Let’s hope the MCU can redeem the guy by making him the Sinister Six’s sixth villain in No Way Home.

Phineas Mason first worked for the Vulture. He used his brilliant mind to create machinery out of salvaged technology. He is probably the world’s foremost authority on Chitauri and Dark Elf technology. Mason is even an expert on Stark Tech. While he is not traditionally a member of the Sinister Six, Mason does have a bone to pick with Parker. he could put his genius level intellect to use and became a force to be reckoned with.

We already have two candidates for the role. Ned Leeds, Peter’s best friend in MCU, is the Hobgoblin in the comic books. James Franco could also become the Hobgoblin. It would be a good way to bring back Franco’s character, that died in Spider-Man 3.

He already knows Spider-Man’s identity and he has decided to protect that secret from others. It would be interesting to see Keaton return as the Vulture to fight Spider-Man. Michael Keaton is a staple of good comic book movies. Adrian Toomes must return because he is a villain almost everyone whole-heartedly respects.

Better Call Saul star Michael Mando portrayed Mac Gargan aka Scorpion in Homecoming’s final scene. We never were able to see Mando take on the role of the fearsome Spider-Man villain in all its glory. With the Multiverse coming into play, maybe we will finally see this iconic super-villain.

There are tons of rumors that Daredevil star Charlie Cox will be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home. If Cox is coming, it is only natural that Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Kingpin in the new No Way Home movie. He is the only Spider-Man villain who has made a live action debut in a non-Spider-Man project. But D’Onofrio’s portrayal of Kingpin is very well-appreciated. It would be an honor to see him wear his iconic cufflinks again.

Mister Negative

Mister Negative has not made a live action appearance in any Marvel movie. But he played a huge role in the PS4 Spider-Man game. A Chinese-American, he would be a good choice for a more diverse Sinister Six. His real name is Martin Li and his powers grant him many superhuman abilities including the power to corrupt others. He is one scary dude.

Venom (Topher Grace)

Considering Tom Hardy’s Venom is not exactly a villain in the Venom movies, there’s no way he will be a part of the Sinister Six. But Topher Grace’s Venom from Spider-Man 3 was a bad guy through and through. At the end of Spider-Man 3, Grace’s character was supposedly ‘vaporized’. It was never confirmed. Grace’s Venom could still be out there. And would probably make his way to the MCU in No Way Home if the Marvel powers that be will it.
