As per the reports, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire were rumored to reprise their role of Spider-Man in a particular Marvel movie. This did not happen due to the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA’s strike but rumors state that Garfield and Maguire were alleged to make their appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Andrew Garfield And Tobey Maguire Were Rumored To Return As Spider-Man
As is the case for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they don’t like to leave loose ends. Talking about the 2021 movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, the world saw the reprisal of their beloved Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Hoping to give fans what they want, the MCU had a greater plan for the millions of fans around the world. As per a tweet, a user seemingly alleged that Garfield and Maguire were heavily considered for a reprisal of their Spider-Mans in the upcoming Phase 6 MCU movie Avengers: Secret Wars. The tweet also stated that this planning was done before the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA strike.
This goes with the fact that there were indeed several rumors that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire were going to join the MCU for one last time. The update regarding the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA strike has got fans concerned as Marvel faces multiple delays in Phase 5 of their journey.
Sam Raimi Is Allegedly Making A Spider-Man Movie With Tobey Maguire!
Although it isn’t confirmed news, an actor that has appeared in two Spider-Man films hinted that director Sam Raimi (known for directing the original Spider-Man trilogy) was in talks to make another film.
Thomas Haden Church, known for portraying Sandman in Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: No Way Home has alleged that there have been rumors of a fourth Spider-Man film starring Tobey Maguire.
“There’s always been some kind of…I’ve heard rumors…that Sam Raimi was going to do another [Spider-Man movie] with Tobey [Maguire] and if that happens, I would probably campaign to maybe at least do a cameo,”
Fans would surely love another Spider-Man movie starring Tobey Maguire as an older version of Peter Parker. The SAG-AFTRA strike will surely have an impact on the release of the films. The MCU has been facing several delays in its projects. Avengers: Secret Wars is currently slated for a release date of 7th May 2027.
