Jeremy Renner, a fellow Marvel co-star, was recently involved in a snow plow accident that left him hospitalized. The doctors involved stated that it was a miracle that the actor survived. Hemsworth talked about what it was like for him and his other Marvel co-stars after they heard the news.

Jeremy Renner, a fellow Marvel co-star, was recently involved in a snow plow accident. He was trying to save his nephew, whose car was stuck in the snow and was crushed by a snow plow near his home in the Mt. Rose Highway area of Reno. When the 911 call was placed by one of his neighbors, he could be heard moaning in agony in the background.
“We were all on our Avengers text chain, we were all chatting. And it was wild. None of us really knew how serious it was,” Hemsworth says. “I think anything like that, it’s an immediate realisation of ‘Wow, any of us can go at any minute…’” He trails off.

During an interview with Variety, Scarlett Johansson also talked about what it was like in this group chat after Renner’s news was broken.
“I was very upset… On the Avengers text chain, we’re like, ’OK, you beat us all. That’s it. You won… That’s like real superhero stuff. It’s unbelievable.” the actress said.
It would seem that Johansson and Hemsworth took quite differently to the news. While the Thor: Ragnarok star went down a more existential rabbit hole, reminded of his own mortality, Johansson was slightly more light-hearted about it. The actress mentioned that while she was extremely worried, she was in awe of Renner’s heroic deed, calling him a real-life superhero.
