During a recent appearance on the TODAY show, Mark Wahlberg reflected on his fitness routine. When the host of the show mentioned that the Oscar-nominated actor is known for working out twice a day, Wahlberg said, “Not anymore.”

He shared that he has started focusing on recovery after an intense workout, and he attains the same through daily ice baths in an effort to “live longer and be healthier.” He further stated, “Now that I’m older, I’ve realized that for me, it’s all about longevity.”

The 52-year-old actor also shared that the shift in his fitness approach was influenced by a friend’s advice. Wahlberg said that a friend that he’s working with told him that the best way to start the day is to “get into cold water.”
