Renner had used the vehicle to pull his nephew’s truck out of the snow before the incident occurred. The conclusion of the report, according to the investigator obtained through a public records request, stated,
“The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.”
The brake indicator light inside the snowcat’s cab was not functioning, and mechanical issues may have been a factor in this accident, the report also noted.
The actor spent over two weeks in the hospital, during which he underwent at least two surgeries and received treatment in the ICU. Nonetheless, as false rumors of his passing have spread, his fans have become outraged.
