One of the biggest villains of Jujutsu Kaisen, Kenjaku was recently killed by the combined efforts of Yuta Okkotsu and Takaba. It was surely the end of probably the most devious character in the series. However, when Kenjaku was about to die, he announced that he had a backup plan that would surely keep his will going forward.
While the characters did not focus on it that much, hardcore Jujutsu Kaisen fans were pretty keen to theorize various notions about what Kenjaku’s backup plan would be, and who would inherit Kenjaku’s will in the future. While many fans pointed their fingers towards Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu, there was no solid evidence to support it.
But now, the spoilers of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 248, which is scheduled to be released on 21st January 2024, have revealed the backup plan Kenjaku had in mind. Along with his plan, the spoilers also reveal the character that will inherit Kenjaku’s will. And this character is none other than Megumi Fushiguro, or rather Sukuna who is controlling Megumi’s body.
Kenjaku’s Backup Plan and The Real Heir of His Will Revealed
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 248 will surely make a huge impact on the story of the series, as depicted in the spoilers recently released. In the spoilers, it was shown that while Yuji was fighting Sukuna, Everyone was taken aback when a sudden flash of light appeared, and Kogane declared that a player had added a new rule.
According to the rule, “Megumi Fushiguro now has the power to initiate the Tengen and human merger.” Next, we witness Sukuna consuming the light spark, which had assumed the shape of a sphere. Kusukabe believes this to be Kenjaku’s backup strategy. He understands that Yuta’s ambush had to be successful because it caused his backup plan to go into action.
According to Kusakabe, Sukuna is superior to Kenjaku because the latter will not carry out Curse terrorism out of idle curiosity. Thus it is finally revealed that the real heir to Kenjaku’s will was Megumi Fushiguro altogether, or rather Sukuna who has taken complete control over Megumi’s body.
What Will Happen if Tengen Merged With Humanity?
Tengen is a jujutsu sorcerer who never dies and is always inside their chamber, the Tombs of the Star Corridor, strengthening the defenses that keep both Jujutsu High locations safe. Tengen possesses an ability known as the Immortalization Cursed Technique, which needs to be reset when their body reaches a specific age.
Failure to do so will result in an attempt by the technique to change Tengen’s body, forcing them to evolve to a higher state against their will and possibly turning them against humanity. Every five hundred years, Master Tengen must merge with a suitable star plasma vessel to rewrite the information in their bodies, preventing this from happening.
Kenjaku says that everyone will become a cursed spirit when humanity merges with Tengen, which will ultimately mean the end of the world. Thus, now it is in the hands of Megumi(Sukuna) to initiate the merger between Tengen and humanity. Therefore, he holds the fate of humanity and his actions will reveal what will happen to the Jujutsu world.
