Starring in Oppenheimer, the actor worked alongside Cillian Murphy in the 2023 movie. Fans have been yearning for Murphy to join the MCU for a long time. The actor has even been fan-cast in the role of Doctor Doom in the upcoming movie Avengers: Secret Wars and the art is quite fantastic.

The fan art is for the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars which could become a reality if Murphy agrees to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for Robert Downey Jr., there were rumors that he might return to the MCU as a variant which is also…a very interesting theory.
Robert Downey Jr. Could Return To The MCU
Kang the Conqueror is the newest baddie in town and he has an army at his command. An army of Thors who could lift Mjolnir are under the command of Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Comics and one of the soldiers is an alternate version of Iron Man.
This version joins the Thors Corps under the command of Kang the Conqueror and fights the Avengers in the comics. Well, this could pan out greatly for the MCU if Robert Downey Jr. were to return in Avengers: Secret Wars. And in the future, who knows, maybe Oppenheimer co-stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. could meet on the sets of Avengers: Secret Wars once again!
