Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki has been in people’s hearts and minds for the last 14 years. He has been one of the characters who have never disappointed and consistently entertained audiences throughout his many MCU appearances. With Loki season 2, he just might have become the best character in the whole franchise.
One Instagram user named danbotooie posted a video detailing how Loki is the most important character in the MCU and is the main reason for all the major events in the films. As he points out, The Battle of New York, Tony Stark creating Ultron, and most importantly the current multiverse saga were all due to Loki’s actions.

Many fans came to realize the character’s importance and contribution to the MCU and voiced their strong agreement with what was addressed in the video. The overwhelming love and appreciation for Loki continue to pour in since the ending of the second season of his show and it remains to be seen whether the beloved God of Mischief returns in the future of the MCU.
Tom Hiddleston Hints Loki’s Story May Not Be Over
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki fulfilled his glorious purpose and gave an emotionally resonant ending to the second season of his show. Recently on Jimmy Fallon’s show, he said that the ending of the show proved to be the conclusion to his 14-year-long stint of portraying the character. But now, he has hinted that the character’s story may not be finished yet.
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Hiddleston addressed how he thought he was saying goodbye to the character many times before but always ended up being contacted by Kevin Feige to play the part in another film. Hence he reveals that for now, the future of the Loki is left open-ended. He said,
“It’s so hard because I’ll be completely honest with you, Brandon, I have at least twice in my life said goodbye. I’ve written to Kevin Feige and Louis de Esposito and Victoria Alonso and been like, ‘Thank you so much. It’s been like the role of a lifetime,’ and they’ve written notes back saying,
‘Come and see us anytime. You’re always part of the family. We’re always here. You’ve given us so much and tears have been shared.’ So I think I’d be unwise at this point to be conclusive about any of it.”
Loki can play a pivotal role in the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as he knows information about the variants of Kang and most importantly can provide means to defeat them. He would likely return for the two Avengers films but for now, he has fulfilled his glorious purpose and has deservedly become the God of Stories. The Loki series can be steamed on Disney+.
