Mahoraga Has Lost His Divine Status in Jujutsu Kaisen

The Divine General Mahoraga is the strongest Shikigami of the Zen’in Clan’s Ten Shadows technique. There is not a single jujutsu sorcerer in the Zen’in Clan history who has controlled Mahoraga. The ability to adapt to any attack is what makes him so special. Due to his adaptability, using the same attack again does not work against him. Apart from that, he is a shikigami with brute strength, and a force to be reckoned with.

The manga had details about Ryomen Sukuna facing Mahoraga, but the anime took it one step ahead. The details were more refined and expanded, adding more flavors to the situation. One of the key animators, Weilin Zhang, posted the details on his X (formerly Twitter) page regarding the fight sequence being non-canon to the manga.

Even though it was non-canon, it became one of the highlights of the Shibuya Incident arc. Fans loved every bit of the fight. The animation was top notch and MAPPA truly exceeded everyone’s expectations. It shows that Ryomen Sukuna is the most potent individual in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen universe.

During the Shibuya Incident arc in Jujutsu Kaisen, seeing no way to stop Ryumen Sukuna’s rampage, Megumi Fushiguro summoned Mahoraga, and the two had a heated battle. Having gained the powers of 15 fingers, the King of Curses had the upper hand. He was slashing The Divine General left and right. But as soon as the latter adapted to the slashes, Sukuna started to use feints and then his attacks.

Not Even Mahoraga Is Safe From Sukuna

The feints caused Mahoraga to lose his footing. But again, Mahoraga adapted to Sukuna’s feints and used them against him to land a proper blow on him. Mahoraga is full of brute strength, and his adaptability makes him the strongest individual. He fights everyone without using any strategies. But the King of Curses had him adapted to cheap shots like feints, which are against the title of “Divine.’

Mahoraga adapted to using feints and launched an attack at Sukuna. The latter jumped to avoid, but Mahoraga pulled his punch and then hit him in the stomach. It made Ryomen Sukuna smile since he was able to tarnish the ‘Divine’ name of Mahoraga by making him use cheap shots. One of the best parts was that the entire fight was non-canon to the manga, and it was made by the animators.

He is powerful enough to make the strongest Shikigami shift his tactics from using combat skills and brute strength to using feints and then landing cheap shots. His ungodliness can make anyone turn into evil. It is amazing how he managed to do it, and after doing it, he was seen laughing with a proud face. The King of Curses’ dark aura can even engulf the most divine being.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available on Crunchyroll.
