The Twilight actress once frankly spoke of her co-star Jesse Eisenberg being a major motivator for her to join the American Ultra cast. Speaking to E! News during the film’s promotion in 2015, Kristen Stewart was asked if the duo getting recast was a coincidence or intentional. Therefore, with a candid response, the 33-year-old actor said,

“As soon as I heard that Jesse was attached to a script that was sent my way, before I even read it, I was almost certain that—and considering that they wanted me to do it—I was like, oh cool, this is my next job, before I even got to the end of it.”

Furthermore, she also asserted that it was not proactively sought but “welcomed” by her. According to a Today interview, Stewart also marked her and Eisenberg as “weirdos.” Thus, working as a team canceled their weirdness and turned into something “cool.”

While fans are aware of Stewart’s admiration for the Zombieland star, it is interesting how the actor himself perceived the idea of working with Stewart again. Therefore, presenting his usual humorous self, Eisenberg jokingly said,

I just got lucky. From her, I guess, she lost a bet.”

Unlike other films the duo has done, American Ultra involved great action and grit, set in a real-world-like scenario. However, much like their Adventureland characters, Eisenberg’s Mike Howell and Stewart’s Phoebe had a similar essence, smoking and drinking their way into the plot. However, that is, until the real problems unfolded.

Owing to the action involved, Kristen Stewart revealed that they actually got injured quite many times. Comparing the experience with her former works, usually based in the fantastical genre, she shared there were a lot of “bloody scenes” in the spy-themed film. With a 6.1 IMDb rating, the film was decent and is worthy of a binge-watch. American Ultra is available to stream on Hulu and HBO.com.
