Revered as one of the most accomplished and talented stars in the Hollywood industry, the reason for Tom Cruise’s success as an individual stems from his consistent delivery of exceptional performances across a multitude of genres in the film business, which has substantiated his position as the complete package when it comes to being an actor.
And though a majority of his films have been successful, both critically and commercially, the star is not immune to some wrong steps that he took in his acting career. Hollywood star Alec Baldwin, who had worked with Cruise on one such film, called it the worst experience he ever had, calling the movie absolutely atrocious.
Alec Baldwin Hated Working With Tom Cruise On Rock Of Ages
Popular and respected for his performances in some of the most iconic films in cinema history like Top Gun, the Mission: Impossible franchise, A Few Good Men, and many, many more, there is seldom any doubt in people’s minds about what a film would look like when Tom Cruise is part of the project. And while he may hold true to this most of the time, there are occasions where he has failed to uphold this sentiment, one of which even Alec Baldwin was part of.
In an event in the past, The Boss Baby star was seen addressing many people at the American Magazine Media Conference, where he also talked about how he always knew that Rock Of Ages was going to be a bomb at the box office and a disappointment in the eyes of the public. He, in his usual frank nature, said:
“A week in, you go, ‘Oh God, what have I done?’ The plane is buffeting, the engine is on fire.”
And while the film did secure decent reviews from the public and the critics, it most certainly bombed at the box office with a meager $38 Million domestic collection.
What Was Rock Of Ages About?
While many bygone era-depicting films take the utmost care and are highly detail-oriented in their nature, Rock Of Ages throws it out of the window for some really spoofy, comical, and raunchy visuals and musical scores that make the viewer really think about what he feels about the film. The story follows Sherrie and Drew, two individuals who try to navigate the world of music in order to make a name for themselves.
