Being a celebrity is no easy feat, and never has been, especially when someone is a Hollywood A-lister who also happens to be a Marvel star. Enter Don Cheadle, a seasoned actor, who’s been in the entertainment business since the ’80s, gracing the silver screens in various television shows and films, garnering numerous accolades along with a permanent spot in the hearts of millions of fans.
With such fame, it’s only natural that he’s often approached by eager fans seeking him for selfies and autographs in public. While Cheadle appreciates all the love and recognition he receives from his beloved admirers, the overwhelming attention can sometimes become a bit much. And thus to avoid the hassle, the actor has devised a brilliantly cunning strategy, as revealed during The Hollywood Reporter’s Comedy Actor Roundtable, where he shared this hilarious trick.
Don Cheadle’s Hilarious Way to Deal With His Fans Asking Him for a Selfie
During a roundtable conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the Marvel star Don Cheadle revealed his absolutely hilarious way of dealing with fans hounding him for selfies whenever he is not in the mood. Although he is grateful for the fame he has achieved over the years and credits his fans for his success in showbiz, there are moments when the sheer volume of attention becomes excessively draining for him especially when he is in public going about his day. Thus, he revealed,
“I’ve just gone on to, I look at whatever—When they come up with an iPhone I say–‘Oh I have a contract with Samsung, I would love to, I can’t'”
Although seems silly, the actor admits it has been an effective way to protect his peace. Or else, it gets quite exhausting to engage with hundreds of fans waiting for their chance, at the same time with the same level of enthusiasm.
Don Cheadle Is Finally Coming Out of Tony Stark’s Shadow in Armor Wars
Well now that Armor Wars is on its way, Cheadle would be hounded for even more selfies. For years, Don Cheadle has been a steady presence in the MCU movies, especially in Phase 1, portraying the loyal sidekick James Rhodes to Tony Stark. While he has been very significant to the operation, his character for the majority part has been hiding under Iron Man’s shadow. However, Armor Wars presents an opportunity where it all can change. In a GQ interview, the actor stated,
“I think in every successive film, [Rhodey] is becoming more and more out of Tony’s shadow and becoming his own person,–But I still think we haven’t really figured out who he is and really dug into that. So that’s what the movie is for.”
He further continued stating,
“It’s been, like, 12 years now, which is bananas that from that moment until now, we’ve been doing it for so long and it just keeps expanding and growing and these universes keep folding in on each other and different characters are being introduced and relationships [keep] popping up.–I haven’t seen any scripts, I don’t know where it’s headed, but I’m excited about its potential.”
This development has fans buzzing with excitement, as they eagerly wait to finally explore War Machine’s backstory and his journey so far. As the MCU continues to expand its multiverse, Armor Wars promises to provide Marvel fans to witness a familiar character in a new light.
