“I’ve just gone on to, I look at whatever—When they come up with an iPhone I say–‘Oh I have a contract with Samsung, I would love to, I can’t'”

Don Cheadle Is Finally Coming Out of Tony Stark’s Shadow in Armor Wars

Well now that Armor Wars is on its way, Cheadle would be hounded for even more selfies. For years, Don Cheadle has been a steady presence in the MCU movies, especially in Phase 1, portraying the loyal sidekick James Rhodes to Tony Stark. While he has been very significant to the operation, his character for the majority part has been hiding under Iron Man’s shadow. However, Armor Wars presents an opportunity where it all can change. In a GQ interview, the actor stated,

“I think in every successive film, [Rhodey] is becoming more and more out of Tony’s shadow and becoming his own person,–But I still think we haven’t really figured out who he is and really dug into that. So that’s what the movie is for.”

He further continued stating,

“It’s been, like, 12 years now, which is bananas that from that moment until now, we’ve been doing it for so long and it just keeps expanding and growing and these universes keep folding in on each other and different characters are being introduced and relationships [keep] popping up.–I haven’t seen any scripts, I don’t know where it’s headed, but I’m excited about its potential.”

This development has fans buzzing with excitement, as they eagerly wait to finally explore War Machine’s backstory and his journey so far. As the MCU continues to expand its multiverse, Armor Wars promises to provide Marvel fans to witness a familiar character in a new light.
