Jeremy Renner is one of the most renowned names in the world of pop culture. Speaking of his role as Clint Barton in the Marvel bandwagon or William Brandt in the Mission Impossible franchise, he is known by all. Interestingly, the actor keeps such a superhero-like aura in real life too. Once the Hawkeye actor did a whole stunt scene with two broken arms and didn’t even take a break after that.
This incident occurred on the set of the film Tag which can be considered one of the best and underrated action comedy movies. The movie is based on a real case where a group of men plays the game of tag one month every year from their childhood to this day.
Jeremy Renner continued his stunts like a pro
Jeremy Renner gained widespread appreciation for playing Hawkeye in the MCU. The bow-and-arrow-equipped superhero is one of the fan favorites of the franchise. It is fascinating how his mental strength is even that of like a superhero in actual life.
This incident was unveiled in 2018 when Jeremy Renner spoke about the whole Tag incident in various interviews. The Bourne Legacy actor explained how a scene featuring a long 20 feet jump from a stack of chairs went terribly wrong and the chairs didn’t fall but he fell. This gave him one broken elbow as well as a broken wrist. But surprisingly, the actor didn’t feel anything initially and immediately went back to try the stunt once again before going to the hospital at lunch and coming to know about the critical injury he received.
“I got back and I did the stunt again. On lunch, I went to the hospital. They said ‘Yeah that’s broken’ and then I went back to work”
Further, he filmed several scenes with CGI prosthetics on her arms which were edited later during post-production. The actor was on a jampacked schedule at that time and didn’t get any moment to rest as a result of which, he had to continue with his commitments even after the injury. This also shows us a clear picture of Jeremy Renner’s strong willpower and dedication to acting.
