From his background to his cursed technique, almost everything is a mystery about Sukuna, and seeing the pace of the series, it may take a little time for Gege to reach and clear out all the details about the King of Curses. However, Sukuna’s and Jujutsu Kaisen’s fans have devised many theories and interpretations about the character from his role in the series till now.
Among those theories, there is one theory on Reddit that may have reached too close to the truth about Sukuna and may have not only revealed his cursed technique but also the fact that Sukuna had a twin brother.

Theory Confirms Sukuna Had A Twin Brother
A widely circulated perception on Reddit argues that Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the fabled legend of Ryomen Sukuna, who happened to be a conjoined twin. Sukuna, the King of Curses, maybe a conjoined twin, which explains why he has four arms and two mouths. Being a twin is considered a terrible omen in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. This has already been alluded to by characters such as Maki and Mai. But that’s not all, a theory by @SageMaskThe6God adds more confidence to this theory. The significance of twins in Jujutsu Kaisen is mentioned several times throughout the novel. Maki is unable to attain her full potential while Mai is still alive. She only reaches her full capacity after Mai absorbs Maki’s leftover cursed energy.
It is widely assumed that Sukuna had a twin brother and just like Maki and Mai, with Sukuna, the roles were flipped, with Sukuna stealing his twin’s cursed energy by suppressing his soul. This theory not only confirms his twin brother but also reveals his true cursed technique which is suppressing other people’s souls and taking over their cursed technique as his own.

Sukuna’s True Cursed Technique
The Reddit theory also sheds light on the real cursed technique possessed by Sukuna. In the first few chapters, Gojo Satoru compliments Yuji for being able to restrain Sukuna Sukuna. Gege further establishes that it is not typical for people to be compatible vessels with cursed goods. Later, even Sukuna is impressed by Yuji’s abilities. There is also information that Yuji’s ability only appears once per thousand years, and Sukuna lived around a thousand years ago.
Sukuna’s true skill may not be stealing cursed techniques, but rather sharing the same remarkable ability Yuji possesses: the ability to inhibit another’s soul. Sukuna’s numerous cursed tactics could be traced to his usage of talismans to contain the souls he has subdued.
