Michael Jai White Admits One Mistake He Made While Body Building

Michael Jai White emphasized the significance of equilibrium in martial arts, underscoring the importance of balanced body proportions to facilitate fluid movement. He recounted how, in his youth, excessive bench pressing had caused an imbalance, with the weight concentrated in front of his body’s center line. This imbalance required years of focused effort to rectify, enabling him to move with greater stability.

White told Men’s Health:

“Being a martial artist, balancing your body is very important because it’s all about movement. And if you have a body part that is overpowering another body part then your movement is compromised… I did a whole bunch of bench pressing when I was quite younger and all the weight from my shoulders and my arms were in front of my center line. So for years I had to really concentrate on backward to balance myself out so then when I moved I was on balance.”

Michael Jai White emphasized the significance of back strength, especially as individuals age. He stressed the critical role a strong back plays in maintaining one’s well-being as they grow older.

White told DjVlad:

“If I was a betting man, I’d say Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan was bigger, just because of his physical size. Have you met Jackie Chan before? Jackie, how tall is he? He’s not a small guy, okay, I would say Jackie Chan is about 5’8 or 5’9, and he’s durable. That’s a tough dude.”

Just like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, Michael Jai White is a proficient martial artist, and has showcased his martial arts prowess in several films.
