Seeing as celebrities have a large influence on the lives of many of their fans and audience members, there are instances where they have found themselves amidst a sea of controversies when they have either presented an opinion or the lack thereof. Recently, Brie Larson has come under internet fire for not having anything to say about Johnny Depp and his recent controversial past.
Considering her active part in being one of the most outspoken celebrities in the industry relating to the #MeToo Movement, people were disappointed and angry when she had nothing to say about the question. But as the fire from the public starts to shoot through the roof, her loyal fans come to her rescue by playing the role of the sufferer.
Fans Come To The Rescue Of Brie Larson By Playing The Victim Card
The recent outburst that MCU star Brie Larson is receiving stems from her active involvement in advocating women’s rights and the #MeToo Movement. Since she is known to be vocal about the subject, a reporter at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival asked about what she thinks and/or feels about Johnny Depp‘s film Jeanne Du Barry being the opening film to kickstart the festivities. Contrary to expectations, the star decided to not answer the question about the matter, considering that Depp was accused of domestic violence against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

With the aforementioned events that transpired, people on Twitter and other social media platforms are bombarding Larson with accusations of being a hypocrite and a liar. Thus, her fans have decided to come to her rescue and give the internet a piece of their mind. Many have come out and called the entire fiasco a hate campaign against the Room star, considering the past when she went through a similar experience.
Brie Larson was a victim of one of the most degenerate and violent misogynistic hate campaign on the internet and I cannot blame her for not wanting to subject herself to that again.

Many more have called this entire thing a setup as well, calling out anyone who has something to say otherwise about the matter.
Exactly it's such a sick hate campaign towards her like get a life and move on 😐

exactly. also i think it’s unfair to put the pressure mostly on her? why not ask the question to the male juror?

Listen, I still think Brie is owed a massive apology for the shit that she’s been put through (and is STILL being put through).

It was crazy the hate she got. Like, I can't lie, I hated the original Captain Marvel movie, but that's no reason to attack someone online..there's other people that were involved, it wasn't just her.

2019 was HELL, they were trying so hard to make her the villain EVERYWHERE

The opinionated netizens have a lot of varying outlooks on the star, and whether or not this outrage is warranted is left for the public to decide for themselves.

Why Are Fans Calling This A Hate Campaign?
The support of the fans, as well as the public, is the result of the previous experience that the 21 Jump Street star had to suffer all the way back in 2019. With the tendency of the star to converse with the press during conferences to be a little stern in the past, many started to view her as a rude and arrogant individual. This was then extrapolated out of proportion when the internet blasted her for her attitude.
