“One of the reasons I wouldn’t use it (after being asked hundreds of times to use it for the past ten years in Guardians,” he said, as per ComicBook.com, while responding to fans pointing out the popularity of the song in the fan-made edits.
Additionally, he has also named several other popular songs, that he is being refrained from using in the upcoming film. These songs include Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down, Superman by Eminem, Sunshine Superman by Donovan, Superman by Taylor Swift, and Superman by Goldfinger.

As for the trailer of the film, there is no specific schedule as to when fans might get the first footage of the new DCU film and Gunn’s vision for the DC superhero. Superman will be the first film in Gunn’s DC reboot, featuring David Corenswet in the lead role alongside Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult.
Superman is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025.
