Ben Affleck is undeniably one of the most incredible and remarkable presences in Hollywood. However, despite being an actor/director/scriptwriter/producer who has made some of the most exceptional works on-screen that have left a forever indelible mark on the audience, Affleck has recently been facing much backlash.
The cause behind this backlash is his most recent Robert Rodriguez-directed epic flop film, Hypnotic, which his fans worldwide have been ripping apart. The movie is hated, criticized, and made fun of to the extent that even his die-hard fans believe that the Batman star should pick his pen back up and get seated on the director’s chair permanently.

Out of all of Hollywood’s biggest and most spectacular masterpieces, Ben Affleck holds a fair share of his own written, directed, enacted, and even produced films. These include some of the most epic blockbusters like Good Will Hunting, which he co-scripted and acted in with his best friend Matt Damon, and Gone Baby Gone, which he wrote and directed himself.
However, recently, it seems that his on-screen charisma has been fading out. This comes after his recent huge flop film, Hypnotic. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, who is also one of the most famous filmmakers for movies like Spy Kids and From Dusk Till Dawn, the $9.69 million grossing movie has been getting a lot of backlash from fans on Reddit. After watching Hypnotic I’m convinced Ben Affleck needs to just give up the acting for hire roles and just move into writing/directing full time where I believe his true talent shines.

Keeping his superhit scripted, directed, and even produced movies in mind like Argo, The Last Duel, and, of course, Good Will Hunting and Gone Baby Gone, Ben Affleck might as well be called one of the best filmmakers of all time. Perhaps, that’s a sign that he should stick to that line of work more?
