The One Piece Live Action has soared to immense success after the release as fans loved the adaptation of their favorite anime and manga series. Viewers and fans have expressed their love and excitement for the series, and despite the fact that viewers were skeptical at first owing to the high expectations, the series managed to produce a quality piece of entertainment. This has been possible because of the editing, story development, and most of all character representation. Despite being difficult to recreate, One Piece has managed to develop some of the most complex characters in season 1.

But as the story moves further, many characters that come later in the stage will become a bigger challenge for the creators. Let’s take a look at the 7 most complex characters that would be near impossible for Netflix to recreate and adapt.

1. Emporio Ivankov

Emporio Ivankov is the Queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom and a commander of the Revolutionary Army, commanding the G Army, which covers the Grand Line. Ivankov consumed the Horu Horu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that enables him to produce a variety of specific hormones capable of altering the recipient’s body in whatever way he chooses, effectively allowing him to “remodel a human from the inside.” In the series, Ivankov’s body structure is extremely complex and he can also alter through male and female gender, which would be a big challenge for Netflix to recreate.

2. Gecko Moria

Gecko Moria is the captain of the Thriller Bark Pirates and a former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and he lives on the world’s largest ship, Thriller Bark. Moria consumed the Kage Kage no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that enables him to manifest and govern shadows as physical creatures. He is a zombie who can control other zombies. His devil fruit powers and his own appearance would be very difficult to recreate even with the help of CGI.

3. Big Mom

Charlotte Linlin, also known as Big Mom, is the captain of the Big Mom Pirates and the only female member of the Four Emperors ruling over the New World. Linlin gained the abilities of the Soru Soru no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that enables her to manifest people’s souls as an ethereal substance that she may grab hold of as long as the target victim is terrified. She can breathe life into items by infusing stolen souls into them, transforming them into entities known as homies. Her character is a giant which would be a big hindrance to creating or adapting in the series.

The Straw Hat Pirates’ musician is “Soul King” Brook. He is the crew’s ninth member. Brook consumed the Yomi Yomi no Mi, which permitted him to resurrect once. Brook ultimately learned to delve deeper into his Devil Fruit’s powers, granting him great control over his own soul. Brook is a skeleton with an afro, and Netflix would need a lot of CGI skills to recreate Brook matching to that of the anime and manga.

5. Franky

Franky is the Straw Hat Pirates’ shipwright. He is the seventh member of the crew. He is originally a Cyborg with a lot of modifications and altercations in his body that allow him to fight and win battles against enemies. He can change his hairstyles and his appearance as he seems fit and bringing him into reality will be a tough job for One Piece’s editors.

Tony Tony Chopper is the Straw Hat Pirates’ doctor. He is the crew’s sixth member. Chopper is a reindeer who utilized the Hito Hito no Mi, a Devil Fruit that permits its possessor to turn at will into a human hybrid or a human. He is a hybrid reindeer human with many fights and regular forms that he can switch between. Creating him using CGI and editing will surely be a challenge for One Piece editors.

7. Kaido

Kaido is known as the world’s “Strongest Creature,” captain of the Beasts Pirates, and one of the Four Emperors who ruled over the New World. Kaido consumed the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that enables him to morph at will into a full serpentine Azure Dragon and a human-dragon hybrid. For the live-action adaption, it would be very hard to build a realistic-looking dragon and human dragon combination.
