Netflix once again sails on the One Piece universe! Keeping the global audience on their toes, the One Piece live-action series gets ready for an even greater Season 2 with much more iconic casts.
The huge success of the first season was quite unprecedented, breaking the taboo of bad live-action adaptations of so many beloved anime series.
A List Of All The Major Casts Announced So Far
With keeping season 1’s momentum alive, this second season of Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation will surely be an unforgettable ride for the fans. Here’s a list of all the new major additions to the cast (provided by Tudum, Netflix):
Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday
One of the most renowned popular British actresses is Charithra Chandran, she appeared in a spy thriller series on Amazon called Alex Rider in 2021 and a period drama on Netflix called Bridgerton in 2022. She was born in India but raised in England. One of the factors making Chandran interesting is her fusion of cultural heritage into acting with contemporary skills.
Wednesday’s character is shadowy, known for her dark humor and her razor-sharp wit. She also happens to carry a strong charisma within her personality. She is very dry with people on some jokes and loves dark topics. Based on these, Charithra Chandran totally fits into this role.
Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra
Sendhil Ramamurthy is an American-born Indian actor. From his acting on shows like Heroes and Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, he proved his virtuosity in the most complex characters with ease.
He would be perfect for Nefertari Cobra, considering the character is smart, and dangerous at the same time. He has a very strong look on his face which further puts a definite stamp on the mysterious nature of Cobra. This resonates with the acting depth Ramamurthy has, making him the perfect fit for Nefertari Cobra.
Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha
Katey Sagal is an actress, singer, and songwriter from America, best known for her roles in Sons of Anarchy as Gemma Teller Morrow and Married… with Children as Peggy Bundy, showcasing her range in playing dynamic characters.
For this role, it should definitely be Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha: warm and stern but with a hint of quirkiness in her character. She would perfectly imbue the deep side of this character, making herself one of the fan favorites.
Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk
Mark Harelik is an actor known for his work on stage and in film. He is widely recognized for his works including, Presumed Innocent and the AMC series Preacher.
With a career spanning over three decades, Harelik has consistently demonstrated his ability to bring depth and complexity to a wide range of characters.
These two personalities coincide perfectly well with each other with their caring and teaching nature. Harelik’s great face gives total peace vibes, appropriate for this role. All his acting experience would surely show Dr. Hiriluk’s smarts, understanding, and quiet sense of humor, making him a believable and lovable mentor.
Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9
Daniel Lasker is a very talented actor, featuring in the quite interesting series Raised by Wolves as Marcus/Adam, a sci-fi drama. It definitely says a lot about what depth he can provide for any character.
He seems perfect for the role of Mr. 9 because he manages to exude eeriness, intensity, and unpredictability. The features really fit his character’s grim aspect.
Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine
Jaslyn Jazzara has become hugely popular as a celebrity across the entertainment industry for her brilliant act that was played in the Cinemax series Warrior. It solidified her flair for playing lively, complex characters.
She would be a good pick for the role of Miss Valentine since she can express playfulness, and charm with a hint of danger; features that perfectly reflect the character’s fun but mysterious side.
David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3

Peter Gadiot as Shanks
Peter Gadiot is an actor and writer of British decent. One of his most well-received performances would be as Camilo Vargas on the USA Network series Queen of the South, where he demonstrated great levels of characteristics and depth of the character.
Peter Gadiot would certainly be perfect casting as Shanks because of his smoothness, confidence, and natural ability to be a leader that reflects on that enigmatic character. Aside from that, his witty nature and deep gaze would contribute to his performance for the role of Shanks.
One Piece live-action’s Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2025. And season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
