Eiichiro Oda has created uncountable characters for One Piece. But as the finale of the grand story emerges, some characters have taken priority over the rest. Characters like Garp and Shanks have always been intriguing to fans, but their powers were displayed very little.
In some of the recent episodes of One Piece, a light has been shed on the actual power of Garp and Shanks, as well as why they hold the positions they do. So of course, fans have become newly intrigued with the characters, slowly impacting the list of top One Piece episodes.
Shanks Vs. Eustass Kid Hacks into the Top 10 One Piece Episodes
Episode 1112 of One Piece displayed the fabulous fight between Kid and Shanks. Although it can’t be called much of a battle when Shanks destroyed Kid with a single shot. The power that suddenly rose into the spotlight in the aftermath of this battle is the Divine Departure. This is an extremely powerful technique that Shanks used by coating his sword with Conqueror’s Haki and blasting a single deadly attack on Kid.
The episode highlighted why Red-haired Shanks is one of the legendary pirates and renowned across the world. While Shanks’ power has been glimpsed in One Piece before, never has there been such a big display of his power. In fact, Shanks might not even have used the full potential of the power against Kid, leaving more room for debate.
The episode has received a 9.7 user rating on IMDB as the episode was highly liked by fans. Shanks’ new display of power, packed with the fate of Eustass Kid, intrigued the audience, and Toei once again did a fantastic job of animating the episode.
Garp’s Galaxy Impact Rises Among Top-Ranking One Piece Episodes
Garp used his Galaxy Impact power for the first time in episode 1114 of One Piece. The episode featured Garp and the Marines drawing closer to Hachinosu. As Garp received confirmation, he went airborne with his vessel. He then combined his Conqueror’s Haki along with Armament Haki to attack while being in midair. The pummeling that resulted from it destroyed the entire town beneath Garp.
Garp’s newly revealed power suddenly became a hot topic as One Piece served two amazing episodes in close proximity. Once again, Toei animated the episode beautifully and captured each and every move of Garp. The ignition of the Haki, which was then combined with his body, finally leaving no trace of a living, breathing town, was a treat for the eyes.
Fans saw Garp’s fierceness after a long time, and it was a good reminder that the old man would play a definitive role in the finale. Garp protected Koby with a passion that was only seen during the execution of Ace. No wonder the episode reached the level of popularity that Zoro Vs. King or the Marineford Battle received.
