One Piece has a few of the strongest characters in all of anime. Tragedy struck when one of the most powerful characters, Admiral Ryokugyu’s voice actor, passed away. But recently, One Piece recast the character with a new voice actor. After four years, the Wano arc is coming to an end. Gear 5 Luffy did the impossible and defeated Kaido and freed the Land of Wano.

According to Eiichiro Oda, the final saga will begin after the Wano arc. The first arc of the final saga is the Egghead arc. But before the Strawhats can finish partying and be on their journey, one of the admirals will be making his return. The voice actor of this particular admiral passed away three years ago. So, after appointing a new one, he is making his return.

Admiral Ryokugyu made his anime debut during the Reverie arc. But at that point, only his voice was revealed. He was shown as a black figure. Ryokugyu will be making his return in One Piece at the end of the Wano arc. His voice will be different from his last appearance. It is because, during the Reverie arc, he was voiced by Keiji Fujiwara. Unfortunately, he passed away on April 12, 2020.

One Piece has recast Junichi Suwabe as the new voice actor of Admiral Ryokugyu. Junichi Suwabe has a known voice throughout the anime world. He gave voice to Ryomen Sukuna of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yami from Black Clover, Eraserhead from My Hero Academia, Grimmjow from Bleach, etc. The news was confirmed by the official One Piece X (Twitter) account.
