There have been several responses but a player’s Crucible Knight response has seen over 500 upvotes, revealing that many players found this boss most difficult to beat. The player zviz2y revealed that they spent around 9 hours beating the boss which might sound like many but given its difficulty, it’s fair enough, to say the least.

The Crucible Knight can be found in the Stormhill Evergaol just south of the Stormhill Shack Site of Lost Grace and possesses skills such as fast movement across the battlefield and powerful attacks that can leave players dead in just a few hits so it is truly worthy of being called the most difficult. Players come across this boss several times and it’s usually the same until they encounter a more powerful version in Evergaol.

Several other players also supported zviz2y’s response with a player stating that Crucible Knight took them “significantly more attempts” to beat than any other boss in the game so far. There were other several bosses that players mentioned to have more troubling than the other such as the second Elden Lord Rennala, Elemer of the Briar in The Shaded Castle in Altus Plateau which a player even called an Elden Ring Jedi.

Some other candidates that players presented include Margit the Fell Omen, Red Wolf of Radagon, Tree Sentinel, and more. Margit the Fell Omen is the first major boss in Elden Ring that players encounter and one of the major reasons that players find Margit hard to beat is because of constantly changing combos but it sets a good tone for players looking to beat more powerful bosses in Elden Ring.

Red Wolf of Radagon is the first major fight in the Academy of Raya Lucaria dungeon that can be found guarding the Grand Library of Raya Lucaria Academy many players how found it hard to even land single hits and it is also resistant to most forms of status effects so players are only left with solid physical hits which can be hard to land. Given all these bosses’ difficulty, it is difficult to pick just one but Crucible Knight has surely taken a significant time for a lot of players to beat.
