Ubisoft’s free-to-play, first-person shooter XDefiant has shaken up the competition as the game is currently dominating the gaming industry. As per the statistics, XDefiant has already managed to beat games like Destiny 2, Helldivers 2 and even Ubisoft’s very own Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege in terms of active number of players. The reason why this is impressive is because XDefiant is still in its preseason and was released less than a month. Thanks to its engaging, fast-paced gameplay, XDefiant has kept the players hooked.

A post on the r/XDefiant subreddit has pointed out that Ubisoft’s XDefiant was the 7th most played game on Xbox & PlayStation in the first week of June, beating games like Destiny 2, Helldivers 2 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Call of Duty games are currently dominating the list but some players are sure that XDefiant would be a stiff competition for the franchise in the future.

One of the main reasons behind the game’s success is Mark Rubin, who was Infinity Ward’s Executive Producer until early 2015. He has worked on various Call of Duty games and his experience in the genre is unmatched. With his ideas, XDefiant has the potential to be one of the best first-person shooter games of all time.
