Nicolas Cage can be termed an actor for all seasons. The Hollywood veteran has covered the gamut of genres with impressive performances in action films, comedies, and dramas. His blockbuster presence coupled with his powerful acting skills earned him the Best Actor Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas. Cage also made a mark as a Marvel superhero in Ghost Rider.
Last year, the actor revealed in an interview with 60 Minutes that his professional life took a major setback due to the real estate crash which saw him losing a huge amount of his career earnings. Cage was also rumored to have sold his coveted Ferrari Enzo to cover his debts for which he reportedly received a ban from the car company. But it has now been proven that this speculation is completely false as confirmed by the actor’s team.
Nicolas Cage’s Team Denies Claims Of The Actor Receiving A Ferrari Ban
While Nicolas Cage has seen massive highs in his glittering career, he has also seen his share of lows. In an interview with 60 Minutes in 2023, the Oscar winner admitted to having faced huge challenges following the real estate crash in which he lost a significant amount of his earnings. Revealing a debt of almost $6 million, Cage nearly filed for bankruptcy.
To pull himself out of this period, the Leaving Las Vegas star moved to tax-friendly Las Vegas and made multiple movies a year, many of which were below par by his own admission. Ultimately, his efforts paid off and the actor saved himself from a huge debacle.
Among the various speculations that were floating around about Cage’s financial status, one rumor indicated that the Ghost Rider actor reportedly sold his precious Ferrari Enzo at a much lower cost to cover his debt. Reports also suggested that Ferrari executives were displeased with Cage’s decision as it devalued their brand, and allegedly placed a ban on him from buying another one of their cars in the future.
While the star did sell his car, it has been confirmed that his monetary predicament at the time was not the cause for the action. Cage’s team stated in no uncertain terms, that this rumor was completely false and that they were aware of no such ban that the actor received from Ferrari.
Meanwhile, the actor’s fans were thrilled to get a glimpse of their favorite star in a small cameo as Superman in 2023’s The Flash. Cage is continuing to prove his versatility with many interesting films in the pipeline including two action horror thrillers, Arcadian and Longlegs.
