Ridley Scott is the Perfect Director For Akira Live-Action

Akira’s live-action has seen a lot of issues since it was announced. Among those problems, the biggest one was finding the perfect director for the movie. Looking at the genre of the movie, the perfect director for Akira’s live-action would be Ridley Scott. Scott has directed many sci-fi futuristic projects like Blade Runner, The Martian, and The Alien: Covenant.

His movie Blade Runner also resembles the plot of Akira in a big way. Akira and Scott’s Blade Runner share certain thematic elements too. A depressing version of the future where modern technology has become the sole dominator of the world and a single man unintentionally embarks on a mission to alter the entire structure that holds authority in society.

Although there is not much discussion about the series going on right now, if DiCaprio brings the idea of producing the live-action adaptation of Akira back, Scott would be the perfect director for it.
