It has been one year since the release of the fan-favorite turn-based fantasy, DnD style RPG. After its spectacular success in the cutthroat video game industry, the video game’s official handle on X/Twitter shared some stats regarding most players’ playthroughs.

The thread included statistics like the most popular character classes in the game. In the thread, another impressive statistic was shared about the decisions that players made:

The outlier is the one figure, 34, indicating an ending out of all the 17,000 variations of endings in the game. As one must be able to gauge from its description, it is incredibly dark and gruesome.

For this ending, Avatar Lae’zel must stay loyal to Vlaakith. Afterward, she has to kill Voss and make a deal with Raphael to get the hammer. Then, she has to defy the emperor to slay Orpheus with her own hands.

It is after that she teams up with Orpheus temporarily and becomes a mindflayer, only to slay Orpheus shortly after. After slaying him as a Hail Mary pass, trying to ensure that Vlaakith sees to her ascension, even as an Illithid.

However, it is to no avail; despite her plea to Vlaakith, it is turned down. The Narrator calls her Vlaakith’s prey, and then a host of options appear, two of which keep her alive, and one makes her take her own life. As per official Statistics reported by the Baldur’s Gate 3 team, only 34 people managed to reach this unique ending.
