Marvel’s much-awaited miniseries, Secret Invasion is finally available to watch. The series is set in the current MCU timeline, where Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury learns about an alien invasion by the shape-shifting alien race known as The Skrulls. As the series progresses, fans learn that these alien forms have been infiltrating Earth for ages without humanity knowing of their existence.

Samuel L. Jackson has always been an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since his first appearance in the franchise in Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in 2008. His charismatic aura and commanding presence in front of the camera were one of the key reasons that the franchise was so successful. 

As the Pulp Fiction actor headlined the miniseries, there have been reports shared by Showbiz Galore, which states that the actor had taken home a massive pay-check worth $20 million. His salary was so huge that the combined salary of his cast members was only half of what he had earned. Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Ben Mendelssohn, and Don Cheadle, reportedly earned $4 million, $2.5 million, $1.5 million, and $2 million respectively. Their combined salary results in only $10 million, half of what Jackson earned in the film.

While The Django Unchained actor went home with a massive payday for Secret Invasion, there is only one actor in the MCU who has taken home a bigger salary that makes his salary look like nothing.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Humongous Salary For Avengers: Endgame

Robert Downey Jr. laid the founding stone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he helped Marvel to launch their first film Iron Man in 2008, in each Marvel movie, where he reprised his role of Tony Stark/ Iron Man it became a hit. To say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be so renowned without him would be a lie, and his praise-worthy performance in Avengers: Endgame marked the film as a masterpiece.

Even though the Oppenheimer actor was seen as a risky choice at first, Kevin Feige was interested in casting Clive Owen for the role. However, hiring Downey seemed to be the right choice as he became the face of the franchise during his time in Marvel. Being a face of the franchise has its perks, as it paid him a massive salary of $20 million upfront for Avengers: Endgame, as well as a part of the box office, reported by Forbes resulting in a $75 million payday altogether.
