The 2024 Oscars were held with great pomp and show. Jimmy Kimmel returned as the host and made sure that the show was an entertaining one. Oscar for Best Actress
Emma Stone (Poor Things), Annette Bening (Nyad), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), Sandra Huller (Anatomy of a Fall), and Carey Mulligan (Maestro) were nominated in this category. Stone went on to win the award, making her a two-time Oscar winner.
Oscar for Best Actor
Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer), Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Colman Domingo (Rustin), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), and Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) were nominated in this category. Murphy won the award in his first-ever nomination in his career.
Oscar for Best Supporting Actress
Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), America Ferrera (Barbie), and Jodie Foster (Nyad) were nominated in this category. Randolph continued her winning streak and took home the award.
Oscar for Best Supporting Actor
Robert Downey Jr (Oppenheimer), Sterling K Brown (American Fiction), Robert De Niro (Killers of the Flower Moon), Ryan Gosling (Barbie), and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things) were nominated in this category. Downey Jr. secured the win in his third nomination in his career.
Oscar for Best Director
Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer), Justine Triet (Anatomy of a Fall), Martin Scorsese (Killers of the Flower Moon), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things), and Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest) were nominated in this category. Nolan went on to win the award, his first win in his career.

What Was I Made For? – Barbie (Billie Eilish, Finneas O’Connell), The Fire Inside – Flamin’ Hot (Diane Warren), I’m Just Ken – Barbie (Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt), It Never Went Away – American Symphony (Jon Batiste, Dan Wilson), and Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People) – Killers of the Flower Moon (Scott George) were nominated in this category. Eilish took home the award, being her second win in the category.

Oppenheimer, American Fiction, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things were nominated in this category. Oppenheimer‘s Ludwig Gorranson won the award for his incredible work in the film.
