Hollywood Couples That Have Both Won The Oscars

While Hollywood celebs hit the big time for winning the Oscars, they make similar levels of headlines when they date a fellow actor. Combine the two, and you get the following celebrity couples. While some of them got these distinguished awards while they were a pair, the others won them before they got together or after their ways separated.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie: This once Hollywood power couple needs no introduction to anybody. They are both talented artists and made countless headlines surrounding their marriage. Brad won the Best Picture award for 12 Years A Slave and the Best Supporting Actor award for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Jolie has an award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Girl, Interrupted.

Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones: The couple got married in the year 2000. The duo celebrates 22 years of togetherness now as of 2022. Michael has two Oscars to his name, The Best Actor award for Wall Street and another for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Zeta scooped a Best Supporting Actress award for the movie musical Chicago.

Nicolas Cage & Patricia Arquette: Arquette and Cage got married in 1995 but parted ways six years later in 2001. Cage has the Best Actor Award for Leaving Las Vegas to his name. Arquette bagged the award for The Best Supporting Actress in Boyhood.

Sam Mendes & Kate Winslet: Winslet and Mendes were a pair from 2003 to 2011 and even worked together during this period. Kate, who was nominated seven times, won The Best Actress Award for The Reader. Sam has the Best Director Award for American Beauty. Mendes acted as Winslet’s Director in American Beauty a short while before their separation. Intriguingly so, Mendes’ intention to cast Winslet was for them to fall in love.

James Cameron & Kathryn Bigelow: The two of them got married in 1989 and parted ways in 1991. Bigelow won the Best Director award for his 2008 hit The Hurt Locker, while Cameron bagged the same award for Titanic. Despite their split, Kathryn stated that they still respect each other in an interview. She credits James as the reason behind her Oscar. She became the first-ever female to win an Oscar for Best Director.

Javier Bardem & Penélope Cruz: Cruz and Bardem have been married to each other since 2010. Bardem scooped the award for The Best Supporting Actor for his performance in No Country For Old Men. Cruz won the award for The Best Supporting Actress in Vicky Christina Barcelona. The movie also starred Bardem. The two fell for each other while filming this movie.

Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward: Woodward and Newman were married to each other from 1958 to 2008 when Newman’s sad demise parted the two. Newman was nominated 9 times for the Oscars and won for The Best Actor in The Color of Money. Woodward got nominated thrice and won The Best Actress award for The Three Faces of Eve.

Blake Edwards & Julie Andrews: Andrews and Edwards were married from 1969 for more than four decades up until 2010 when Edwards’ death did them apart. Edwards won over 30 Honorary Oscars for writing and directing movies. Andrews has the Oscar as the Best Actress for Mary Poppins.

Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall: They were married to each other from 1945 to 1957 until Bacall’s death. Bogart was awarded an Oscar for his performance in The African Queen. Bacall was awarded an honorary Oscar for her contributions to the film.
