Extraction has set up quite a character with Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake. The character is quite overpowered in his capabilities and showcases his training as a former Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) operator turned mercenary. His fighting style is a combination of boxing, muay Thai, Krav Maga, and wrestling. He is also incredibly skilled in knife combat as well as using firearms. He specializes in extraction operations as well as assassinations. This makes this character very strong and very difficult to beat.

On the other hand, another mercenary that comes to mind who is also quite unstoppable is Keanu Reeves’ John Wick. Wick is potentially one of the most overpowered characters in television history. So much so, that he needs no introduction.

Who Would Win in a Fight Between Tyler Rake and John Wick?

With characters with similar capabilities and skill sets, a question that arises is, Who would win in a fight between Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake and Keanu Reeves‘ John Wick? This is what was asked of Sam Hargrave, the director of Extraction and an ex-stunt coordinator, known for his work in Avengers: Endgame and Thor: Ragnarok. His opinion was biased, which is something he mentioned clearly.

Hargrave said “No! No one– John Wick is a verb now, like to John Wick someone, that’s a thing. He’s a legend onscreen in his own movies, and yet he’s a legend now as an action icon. So no, that dude doesn’t go down without a fight, but the fourth movie proves he can go down! And we’ve proven that our guy can be killed and brought back from the dead, so you gotta give it to Tyler Rake. A long, hard-fought battle, to be sure, but I think you gotta go with Tyler Rake.” when asked about what Chad Stahelski would have to say abput this, he said, “Well, of course, he would, and it probably wouldn’t even be a long… he’d be like, ‘Nah, Wick,’ in five seconds.”

The director said that John Wick is quite powerful if the end of the fourth movie, it is quite clear that he can be defeated, unlike Tyler Rack, who came back from the dead after being shot in the back of his neck. He went on to say that like his bias toward Rack, Chad Stahelski, the director of John Wick, would also be biased toward his character.

The Epic Fight Between John Wick and Tyler Rake

Regardless of what the directors of the two franchises think, one fact that is undeniable is that a fight between Rake and Wick would be a sight to behold. With the amount of skill and experience the two bring to the table, this would be one hell of a fight. It is almost impossible to predict who will win this and who will be left in the dust. Sam Hargrave seems to agree with this.

“It would be wildly different, but I think, hopefully, entertaining no matter how you cracked it because those two guys in a scene together would be insane, let’s be honest.” He said.

Extraction 2 seems to be even better than the original, as seen in promos and fans are incredibly excited to see what this movie has in store for us.
