Overwatch 2 is Blizzard’s sequel to the original 2016 Overwatch. Although the game has quite a rocky lifespan, mostly due to PvE pitfalls and the battle pass system, the title has managed to sustain its status as the face of the hero shooter genre.

With every new season that comes and passes in Overwatch 2, Blizzard brings a new hero to define the game’s meta. However, it seems like Blizzard is breaking away from the tradition for the upcoming Season 11. While we won’t see a new hero added to the game, the developers have brought one fan-made arcade game that’s already being praised by the community.

Overwatch 2 Season 11 Brings Fan-Made Game Mode Instead of a New Hero

Overwatch 2‘s lack of appearance at the recent Xbox Games Showcase disappointed many longtime fans of the community, who weren’t given a sneak peek at what to expect from the upcoming season. However, shortly after the Xbox Games Showcase, Blizzard developers reassured fans by confirming what they can look forward to everything Season 11 is bringing to the table.

Although fans are excited, the lack of a new hero in the upcoming season is surely disappointing. However, Blizzard plans to compensate for that by bringing a fan-made arcade game mode that takes players down memory lane called Community Crafted. The Overwatch series has a history of collaborating with fans of the franchise and releasing some of the most epic modes we’ve ever seen!

Community Crafted is a brand-new limited-timed game mode players can look forward to in Overwatch 2‘s Season 11. As the name suggests, it was created by fellow fans of the game. What’s so appealing about this mode is the fact that it features hero changes made by some of the most popular Overwatch 2 creators. Emongg has taken care of the tank changes, and Eskay made the support ones. On the other hand, TQQ and Custa divided the DPS characters between hitscan and projectible, respectively.

As teased by Overwatch 2s game director Aaron Keller, we’re going to see a return of iconic abilities, such as Hanzo’s Scatter Arrows and Orisa’s halt. That’s not all; the mode will introduce new abilities, such as Reaper’s damaging Wraith Form and Ana’s Super Jump. Community Crafted is all set to release with Season 11 on June 20 and will be available to dive into through July 9.

We still aren’t done! Blizzard is bringing another special mode in the upcoming season. The mode dubbed “Quick Play Hacked” will see players choosing unique passives based on their character roles. We’re also going to see the highly anticipated Transformers collaboration during Season 11. Although we lack details, we can expect Blizzard to reveal more about these in-game events once Season 11 officially goes live.

Overwatch 2 is Bringing Back A Cassidy Ability Back in Season 11

It’s not only the return of community-made game modes in Overwatch 2‘s Season 11; we’re also getting the return of Cassidy’s iconic Flashbang grenade.

Blizzard has decided to change Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade with a new Flashbang that will slow down your foes. The exact way this new Flashbang will work is yet to be revealed. If it works as it originally did, with interrupting abilities and stopping characters, it could be broken, but that remains to be seen.

In the meantime, the developers have also confirmed that Season 11 will see more major changes made to the Colosseo Push map, with the glass being removed from everywhere on the map, allowing players more freedom when it comes to how they deal with the objective.
