Overwatch 2 is a title that fans love to hate. Despite the game standing at mostly negative and Overwhelmingly Negative reviews on Steam, if one were to check the Steamcharts, the game is still clocking almost 25 thousand peak players every passing 24 hours.

Since the game encourages players to grind and work through loads of new content offered seasonally, it also changes its meta with season updates. Some heroes receive nerfs, while some are nerfed if they are deemed overpowered by the team in charge. The game just had a leak that was recently floated on the Internet. If it is legitimately true, then one iconic character will receive a much-needed buff.

Overwatch 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed title that formed the basis of the series. The sequel switched up many things about the games, including game modes and match types, among many other things. Also, it expanded the game’s roster and changed the looks of many heroes, among many other things.

A hero that has stuck to the franchise ever since its inception is Tracer, who was also the cover star for the first title. Also, despite being so iconic and staying in the franchise since its early days, unfortunately, the hero isn’t a popular choice among the current character roster that contains 39 heroes at the time.

A leak shared by a Twitch streamer named John “W_NTED” stated that Tracer would receive an HP buff, increasing her max health to 175. Despite Tracer being an inseparable part of the game’s lore because of her presence in the game since its launch, gameplay-wise, she is a very tough hero to master. While some seasoned Tracer leading players can carry the match using her, she isn’t as easy to pick up as a playable hero as heroes like Lucio and Soldier 76.

W_NTED also stated that in the game’s test server, she currently has 175 HP. But the change isn’t confirmed officially by Blizzard or another representative of the game’s team. Currently having 150 HP, Tracer is among the most fragile heroes in the game. Zenyatta, a support class hero, has the same health as her, but since he is from the support class, it is a different ballgame.

Also, if changes are being made to the game’s meta, they will indeed not be restricted to changes being made to Tracer only. The current season of Overwatch 2, Season 8, has been going on and began on December 5 last year. With it came Mauga, another hero of the Tank class who was broken when he first came out and had to undergo a series of nerfs to balance the game.

Like most changes in a competitive multiplayer hero shooter’s meta, the news of Tracer receiving a buff is being debated heavily on the game’s subreddit. A post on the subreddit asked about the heroes that would benefit from an HP buff.

This is what the player posted on the game’s subreddit:

It would seem that instead of going through and having to tweak everyone’s damage and healing numbers from primary fire, to alternative fire to cooldowns to ultimates they are instead just going to increase the entire rosters health pool which is fine to me.

Some players were totally against this buff and stated that:

If they buff everyone’s heath pools, a 175 hp Tracer will also take longer to kill anyone, which will be really bad, an extra 25hp is not going to make up for the fact that you’ll need an extra reload to kill someone.

Some people also stated that Tracer is already broken, and buffing her would make matters for the game’s meta even worse. Some others were skeptical about the leak and stated that this would increase the TTK (Time to Kill) for all of the characters, and the TTK has stayed more or less the same in the series.

What do you think of the leak? Do you think Tracer should get buffed? Or do you think that she should get nerfed instead? Let us know in the comment section below!
