These common grounds are being celebrated by fans of both the games, as Overwatch’s current state may just force players to switch to NetEase Games’ title instead.

Overwatch Players Are Considering Switching to Marvel Rivals

Just like Overwatch, NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals is a PvP title that centers around team-based combat based on iconic characters from the Marvel universe. Each character has a unique set of abilities and plays differently.

The hype for the upcoming game has been a mixed bag of genuine anticipation for Marvel characters fighting one another and a revival of Overwatch gameplay mechanics that are better suited for a free-to-play title.

The Act Man on shares this sentiment on Twitter, asking players to try out the game if they were fans of Overwatch during its best days. Even though the closed beta has ended, players can still wishlist the game on all platforms.

Players seem to be enjoying the closed beta for the game, often discussing strategies and favorite characters that one masters over time. Some of these players are Overwatch veterans who simply gave up on the game in recent times and are now looking for a better live-service title to migrate to.

The present state of Overwatch 2 is nothing short of a source of disappointment for fans of the franchise. Even with constant updates and gameplay changes, the title simply fails to appeal to old and new players alike.

While players eagerly await the franchise’s redeeming arc, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for NetEase Games’ title to launch. A team-based game based on comic book characters that people have been acquainted with for ages? Now that’s something fans look forward to.

Despite the game’s similarities to Blizzard Entertainment’s popular title, Marvel Rivals distinguishes itself by being unique to each character’s lore and moveset. Additionally, so far the game seems balanced and far from being a broken mess.

This seems like a promising venture for NetEase Games, and only time will tell how the game evolves into a popular live-service game that players keep preferring. At the time of writing, the game shows a lot of promise, and it looks like Blizzard Entertainment can take a note or two.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming game? Do you think it will attract and big playerbase and maintain it? Let us know in the comments below.
