Palworld is a title that has taken the gaming industry by storm, from trending no. 1 on Twitch’s streaming platform to surpassing Counter Strike 2’s all-time peak player count. The game has been receiving a lot of love and, at the same time, has been surrounded by controversy regarding the likenesses with Pokémon.
Since the game is a multiplayer, open-world survival and crafting game, it also involves base-building. A player on Reddit has shared a post on the game’s subreddit about an unusual tip for base-building that will keep some treasured items safe and away from anyone else’s reach.
A Palworld player on Reddit utilizes a glitch to his advantage
Palworld is a title that is still in Early Access, and because of that, it is by no means perfect. As is the case with most Early Access titles, the game has various glitches present in it. When the game nears its release such glitches will be identified and will be done away with eventually. The whole purpose of a title in Early Access is to help the developers with bug fixing and release a game in a state that is not perfect but is not unplayable either.
Now sharing the utility of one such glitch on Reddit, a player has pulled off a move that will most certainly appeal to other players, as shown in the video embedded below:
In the video posted on the game’s subreddit, the player uses his custom-made avatar and climbs to a ledge adjacent to his base’s staircase. The mechanic the player uses to achieve this was
Technically added into the game as a traversal ability, allowing players to climb up reachable ledges. But what the player does next makes this tip ingenious: instead of climbing up the ledge, he moves downwards and shimmies to the side. After that, they can phase through the staircase because of an apparent glitch in the title.
Once they do that, they can access a secret passage containing a wooden crate, probably containing supplies or items the player considers necessary. The secret room tip will undoubtedly ensure that one’s belongings stay hidden and out of other players’ and raiders’ sight.
When the player posted this video on the game’s subreddit, players mentioned how they were worried that if they engaged in something like this, some Pals could accidentally get stuck in the secret room. This is a possibility because since preparing a secret passage is based on a glitch and not a robust in-game mechanic, this cannot be ruled out.
Not to mention, if a Pal were to get stuck inside the room, and it is a unique or a prized one, the trouble would not be worth it. Another player replied to this comment in which a player worries about Pals getting stuck and said that it was almost guaranteed for Pals to get stuck in the basements of their bases.
Since the game has a significant base-building,, it is also essential to use suitable materials to build their base. Since the evidence of the glitch working in the game is based on the presupposition that the base is built out of wood, it may get scorched up in flames.
This is even more probable if the bases are present at a place where raids are common. Considering how raids frequently happen in the game, and the attackers range from enemies and pals, it would be wise to be careful with your base’s schematic and location.
Some players, however, even shared their strategy to use wood as the base material because it looks better without worrying about it getting torched:
Yeah I made a second base right next to 2 ore deposits with plenty others in the area and any raid I get they get stuck on a small cliff beside my base and can’t climb it. My mIn base was all wood and got completely burnt down the yesterday so I moved most of my stuff to this new base.
It is worth noting that potential improvements that will be happening to Palworld’s AI might render many of these strategies moot; they do work for the time being. What do you think of Palworld? Did you try it out yet? Let us know in the comment section below.
