The new rapper beef in town is that of Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. The rappers have been at odds with each other for a while, but things peaked after Thee Stallion released her recent track, Hiss, which featured lyrics referencing Minaj and her husband.
The Anaconda singer since seems to have gone on a rampage, calling out Megan Thee Stallion and the failure of her albums. Minaj also reportedly released a preview of an upcoming song when she went live on social media, which contained lyrics that were interpreted to be about Megan Thee Stallion and her infamous shooting in 2020.
Megan Thee Stallion Referenced Nicki Minaj’s Husband In Diss Track
The beef between rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion hit its peak recently after the latter allegedly dissed Minaj in her latest single Hiss. The WAP star talks about Megan’s Law in the lyrics of her song, which is a law that dictates that law enforcement authorities make information about registered s*x offenders public.
Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty was charged after he failed to register himself as a s*x offender when the couple moved to LA. According to CBS News, Petty had been convicted of r*pe in 1995, where he was involved in an incident with Jennifer Hough in ‘94. He spent four years in prison and was reportedly mandated to register himself as an offender everywhere he moved.
Kenneth Petty was sentenced to three years in probation and home detention after he pleaded guilty to the charge. He reportedly also had to pay a fine of $55,000. Jennifer Hough also reportedly sued Nicki Minaj and Petty for ‘intentional infliction of emotional distress and s*xual assault’. According to Business Insider, she accused the couple of attempting to pay her for recanting the allegations.
Megan Thee Stallion’s diss track referred to Nicki Minaj’s predicament with her husband. The beef reportedly began when Minaj referenced Thee Stallion in a lyric of her song Red Ruby Da Sleaze. In the lyrics, Minaj reportedly says, “700 on the horses, when we fixin’ to leave; But I don’t f*ck with horses, since Christopher Reeves”. The ‘horses’ were interpreted to be about Stallion.
Nicki Minaj Responds to Megan Thee Stallion’s Diss Track
After Megan Thee Stallion’s reference to Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty in her new track, Hiss, Minaj became vocal about her anger towards the rapper. She uploaded a long X (formerly Twitter) post talking about Megan Thee Stallion’s past performances as a rapper and the less-than-stellar streams she has received.
Minaj also brought up multiple other songs and albums of Thee Stallion, which she claimed did not work well. She said,
“Every album she’s ever released [=] flopped. Paid media all the time. Fraudulent awards = flopped. Horrible ACTOR that can’t cry on cue…don’t try to act bookie it’s a chop. Pathological & manipulative liar. Using ghostwriters & still SUCK.”
Nicki Minaj also went live on Instagram, which was playing the preview of a song that was interpreted to be a diss track on Thee Stallion. According to Pop Base, Minaj previewed a track that had the lyrics
“Bullet fragment foot b*tch… you bringing up 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old child. You bringing up 30-year-old tea cause no man will ever f*cking love you, and lying on your dead mother.”
The rapper also reportedly said, “Bad b*tch she like six foot, I call her Bigfoot. The b*tch fell off, I said get up on your good foot”, referring to Megan Thee Stallion’s infamous shooting by Tony Lanez in 2020. Lanez reportedly shot Thee Stallion in the foot with a firearm and was then found guilty.
