Payday 3, the first-person co-op shooter title from Starbreeze Studios, was released back in September 2023, a decade after the second installment in the series. The game disappointed players waiting for it, with several issues plaguing the game since its launch.
The developer recently assured players that it is working on a comprehensive update called “Operation Medic Bag” that would improve the game and make it better for the players. Starbreeze Studios has now brought the first Payday 3 patch with new content, several bug fixes, and more.
First Payday 3 ‘Operation Medic Bag’ Patch Brings New Content and Fixes
The Operation Medic Bag in Payday 3 is aimed at bringing community-requested features, content, and improvements, and the first patch has brought a bunch of them, including rotating security modifiers, improved controller settings, support for several Nvidia technologies, and more.
The patch update 1.1.1 has added DirectX12 as the standard graphics API in Payday 3, and the initial testing has seen a significant improvement in performance while in use. However, DX11 will be in the game and can be manually selected by players. Several improvements have also been made to the UI, and the long-awaited lobby “unready” feature.
A new challenge called “Kiss the Chef” is also available now, which rewards players with a unique weapon charm upon securing 19 bags of perfectly cooked meth on Cook Off on OVERKILL difficulty. This patch also marks the introduction of rotating security modifiers on all heists for Very Hard and Overkill difficulty, and the modifier distribution will now be rotated every two weeks.
Some other improvements include the game remembering if a player has chosen to show or hide the story videos in the heist selection even after they restart the game. The lobby type and difficulty will now be set the same as in the previous game, allowing players to start the next game instantly.
More Than 300 Issues Have Been Addressed in This Payday 3 Patch
The patch update brings over 300 bug fixes across categories. The skill point assignment has now been reset on load-outs, but players will retain their earned skill points. The party slot will no longer be reserved if a player aborts or fails to join the party lobby. The guards now react if players bump into them, and the game crash during the OVK weapon drop is also fixed.
Several skills, such as Disengage, Shell Shock, Hardy, and others, have been tweaked and improved to work better. For example, Shell Shock now works on all the enemies, and the bonus has been increased to 20%. The improvements made to weapons include the R900, Mosconi 12, HET5, and Marcom Mamba MGL.
Many pieces of equipment have also received improvements, such as the healing from the first aid kit, which has been improved to 25%. The regeneration time for “Standard Lining Armor” has been tweaked to 3 seconds, and more. The issues during heists have also been taken care of including Syntax Error, Touch the Sky, Road Rage, Cook Off, 99 Boxes, and several others.
