Pedro Pascal has been rapidly building a global fandom in recent years. From being television’s prominent star after his roles in Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, Narcos, and most recently The Last of Us, Pascal has been the most desired star for movie projects as well.
As recent reports suggest, Pascal could make his MCU debut as Reed Richards in Marvel Studios‘ Fantastic Four. It’s not shocking given Pascal’s rapid rise to fame. However, fans are quite skeptical about it, and the news of casting talks with Pascal has created a debate online.
Marvel Studios Is In Talks With Pedro Pascal For Reed Richards
A recent report from Deadline stated that Marvel Studios is considering three-time Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal to play Reed Richards in the studios’ upcoming slate Fantastic Four. One insider told the outlet that the deal between the two parties is in negotiation and they are working on schedules. However, several sources close to the negotiations said that the talk is going in the right direction. If it pans out, Pascal will be MCU’s next Mr. Fantastic.
As of writing the piece, Marvel Studios has not commented on Pascal’s casting as Richards. Written by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer the project will be directed by Matt Shakman. Reportedly, Shakman is in pre-production and Marvel President Kevin Feige will produce the project. Earlier, Vanessa Kirby was rumored to join the project as Sue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman, however, there’s no confirmation of that either. As for the rest of the members of the iconic superhero group, there is no casting buzz as of yet.
Fans Are Not Happy With Pedro Pascal As Reed Richards
Fans do acknowledge Pascal’s evolution as an actor as he went on to achieve much greater prominence in recent years but Pascal as Richards is hard to digest for many. While some are demanding John Krasinski’s Mr. Fantastic after his cameo for the role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many have shared utter disappointment in MCU for considering Pascal for the role.
Nope. He’s over used as it is. What a disappointingly predictable choice.
