Will Smith became a controversial person in recent years after the Oscars slap, though he has always been a pretty popular figure when it comes to blockbuster movies. There’s no doubt he is a very fine actor, but interestingly, he is a much finer conspiracy theorist.

The Emancipation star has been vocal about his extremely controversial theories about the United States government. He even shared them on live television and in print interviews.

Will Smith On His Government Conspiracy Theory Involving AIDS

Will Smith sat down with Barbara Walters for an interview where the latter asked the actor about his own conspiracy theory involving the government and AIDS. The host asked:

I read that you felt that the government was deliberately spraying cold germs in subways, was deliberately trying to make people ill with the AIDS virus. This is pretty serious stuff. Do you really feel that?

Smith obviously felt uncomfortable but still proceeded to share his sentiment. Walters, on the other hand, looked shocked.

People are gonna chase me after this. People are gonna chase me. I believe that it is quite highly possible that the AIDS virus is a result of genetic warfare testing.”

In a more detailed conversation with Rolling Stone, the Gemini Man star admitted that his 1998 movie Enemy of the State only solidified his conspiracy theories against the government.

I’m definitely a conspiracy theorist, and Enemy of the State only confirmed my beliefs. There’s a line in the movie, ‘The only privacy you have is in your head.’

He expounded on the issue about AIDS virus but made a disclaimer that he was not referring to anyone in particular. Indeed, Smith has some interesting hypotheses on this certain phenomenon.

I said I felt that AIDS was created as a result of biological warfare testing. I said I felt that someone was messing around in a laboratory, trying to find biological weapons, and created AIDS. I wasn’t implying that it was targeted at a specific group. I said it managed to make its way to them.”

Fans of Smith had been asking where the ‘real Smith’ is, the one exposing the government, after this conspiracy theory interview since he anticipated that people were going to chase after him.

In another interview with BBC Radio 1, Will Smith shared he and his family did a tour inside the White House. His son, Jaden Smith, asked former President Barack Obama about aliens. Of course, he neither confirmed nor denied the existence of extraterrestrial creatures.

Smith later said in the middle of the conversation that he knew something, and that information came from the White House. If this is true, then it proves he has some sort of access privilege.

I have the top-secret information; I just can’t share it. You don’t think I’ve made all of these movies and not been briefed by the White House? I know, I just can’t tell you.”

Smith was very brave to express all these controversial arguments in public; not a lot of A-list Hollywood actors would risk their careers for a piece of conspiracy theory.
