Recently during the Gamelab conference in Barcelona, Peter Molyneux, one of the most famous game developers in the world has, spoken out about a new project that he is working on with developers 22Cans. When speaking to GameReactor, Peter decided not to give many pieces of information away so that gamers won’t be “very annoyed and angry” when their expectations aren’t met, but he has stated that it has featured a mechanic never before seen.

Even though Peter Molyneux hasn’t gone into major detail in regards to what features this game will hold, there has been some interesting information that has been mentioned in his interview. During his interview, Peter mentioned that this new mechanic would be a part of a “familiar” environment which is “more like a kind of Fable, Black and White, Dungeon Keeper kind of experience.”

Due to this information, a lot of gamers are excited, but as Peter has mentioned, he doesn’t want to leak a lot of information to ensure that gamers do not get upset when the game doesn’t have what is promised. Looking at this information has led many gamers to believe that the project in question will be released first on PC and consoles which is quite an interesting leap as usually, Peter Molyneux’s projects at 22Cans have only released on mobiles. When it comes to this project he believes that it will need the power of consoles as he has stated: “We’re definitely leading on PC and console, mainly because we need the power.”

Since Peter left Lionhead back in 2012, the developers of games like Fable he has worked on many games which have received mixed reviews, with many gamers being quite angry with what has been released, with games like Curiosity: What’s Inside the Cube? Which tasked gamers to tap on a cube on their phones till they reached the centre, and whichever gamer would get to the centre would receive a life-changing surprise which didn’t end well.

Even though in the past Peter’s games have had some controversy in what he has promised and what he has released, he is still on track for creating amazing games for players and is currently even coding this new project himself which he hasn’t done in a very long time.

This has put a lot of pressure on Peter’s shoulders as he is trying to ensure that gamers do not get too excited about this new game and receive something which doesn’t include what is promised. He says, “Every part of me wants to tell you everything about it,” but to conclude his statement, he says, “But, you know, that would be silly.” showing that he knows what he has done in the past and doesn’t want to do it again.
