The Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is only a few weeks away and fans of the title have been liking what they’ve seen so far. And along with it, comes update 2.0 for the base game, which promises even more free stuff to those who’ve stuck by the game over the years since that disastrous launch.

What to Expect From Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0

Phantom Liberty
The paid expansion Phantom Liberty is due to launch on September 26th.

If you were one of those players that picked Cyberpunk 2077 up on launch back in November 2020 then you were no doubt heavily disappointed by the disjointed buggy mess that you were greeted with. And no-one would blame you if you returned the game back to the shop you got it from, post haste.

But for those that stuck with the game through the many, many hundreds of bug fixes over the years, (did we mention there were many?), then your patience may have finally been rewarded in that the game is finally in a position where CD Pojekt Red expected it to be upon launch.

Not only is there the Phantom Liberty expansion to look forward to, but also the addition of update 2.0 to the base game. And this may be seen as a small token of gratitude to those players who decided not to jump ship when they encountered choppy waters upon release.

What are you looking forward to from update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty?

As we can see from the video posted on the official social media page for Cyberpunk 2077 there is specific focus on the combat system with new redesigned skills tree and perks being implemented. We can also see there is the new vehicle combat feature which is due to appear in update 2.0, but the flipside to this is that there is a new and improved Police AI system which promises to make things more challenging.

There is so much more with new content, Phantom Liberty will bring a new district for you wreak havoc in with Dogtown and obviously there are numerous upgrades weapons and more for players to enjoy. And there’s another heavyweight name lending his likeness to the game with Idris “The Man” Elba appearing as Solomon Reed, which promises to bring an espionage twist to the game.
