During the new trailer showcase of Machine Games and Bethesda Softworks’ upcoming Indiana Jones game, Xbox fans were thrilled. A huge win for the brand’s exclusivity, right?

The joy was incredibly short-lived. Just moments after the trailer finished, an additional announcement was tacked on: the game would also be coming to the PlayStation 5 in spring 2025.

There were already rumors swirling around before the show that the exclusivity title would be retiring pretty quickly, but up until the moment of confirmation, nobody knew for sure.

Someone who undoubtedly knew, though, was Phil Spencer, who happened to be seated in the audience at the time.

Unfortunately for him, with how accessible X/Twitter and social media in general are, it’s hard to have a private moment with such a packed audience, each of whom has a phone.

And one audience member managed to catch him at an awkward time, right during this announcement.

When the timeline for the game’s PlayStation release flashed on the screen, they instinctively turned to see Spencer’s reaction.

He was reportedly staring blankly at the screen, his expression just like that viral GIF of Homelander from The Boys. The one where he’s watching a movie with a dark, brooding look on his face.

The information has been the source of a ton of memes. One person joked that he was extremely stressed trying not to make eye contact with the people around him.

Another reply says that his expression was the look of someone who spent billions of dollars trying to create a platform filled with exclusives, only to see people cheer for the opposite happening.

Whatever his thoughts might’ve been, this moment is one that the internet isn’t going to move on from for a while.

Do you think it was a smart move to bring the game to the PlayStation so soon? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
