Actor Henry Cavill, widely popular for his work in the DC Extended Universe as Superman, recently made headlines as he is rumored to return for the role in a highly anticipated sequel, even though the actor had previously stated that he was done with the role.
With his alleged return as Superman, fans might be binge-watching his interviews and picking up on some controversial comments made by him in previous years. Especially the ones that made Henry Cavill’s fans believe that their favorite actor just might have a dirty mind.
Does Henry Cavill Have a Dirty Mind?
There has been more than one instance where Henry Cavill’s humor might have to be labeled a little PG-13. In an interview with The Guardian, way back in 2015, he related playing Superman to “shagging someone.”
“It’s like shagging someone for the first time. Sometimes it turns out to be amazing. Mostly you’re trying to get each other’s rhythm going. It’s on the next go that you start to expand.”
In another interview in 2015, this time with the late-night host Jimmy Fallon, Henry Cavill was asked about his fitness and how he got into shape to play Superman. When Jimmy Fallon asked him about what he does for cardio, Cavill jokingly side-eyed the audience and replied that he “runs.” This gained an eruption of laughter from the audience which he followed by saying, “that is the savoury answer.”
In the same year, ShortList interviewed Henry Cavill about his wardrobe. When asked about whether he would wear swimming shorts or budgie smugglers, a synonym for swim briefs, he joked saying he would choose the swimming shorts, as budgie would probably have to be replaced by a bigger bird.
“Definitely, definitely swimming shorts. More like a parrot smuggler. A macaw or something. Perhaps a large bird of prey. Bald eagle. There you go.”
His jokes certainly got quite a laugh from his fans, with some even saying that they now admired the actor even more so than before as he is just like them.
Henry Cavill Admits to Things Getting Out of Hand
In an interview with Men’s Fitness, Henry Cavill opened up about getting a bit too excited on set. While filming a racy scene on the sets of Michael Hirst’s The Tudors, he admitted that things got out of hand and said that “it only happened to me once, and it was very embarrassing.” He immediately apologized to the actress for his involuntary arousal as it was completely unacceptable in a professional acting environment.
His cheeky jokes and gentlemanly behavior are certainly some things that are adored by his fans.
