In the current state of the industry, many games that have cross-platform and cross-progression ask players to link accounts to other services; for example, Rocket League makes you log in with your Epic Games account.
Thanks to a leak about Sea of Thieves coming to PS5, some PS users were not so happy about having to link Xbox and Microsoft accounts to play the game. This was leaked by a user on X, who shared how it looks to link accounts.
Apparently, Sea of Thieves Will Make Players Link PS and Microsoft Accounts
As in every giant community, there is always some part of this group that will not make things easy for the rest. Regarding video games, many fans and players often complain about the most ridiculous things. The list goes from “woke” narratives ruining games to almost anything; the most recent complaint is about the most random thing, like linking accounts to play a live-service game.
X user Nicola posted a preview version of Sea of Thieves on PS5, making a reference to how Microsoft will make players link accounts with PlayStation. He said, “Hahaha look at these bastards.” He followed this with a devil emoji, referring to how diabolical this move was.

He also posted another short clip showing how the Xbox logo appears before the title screen of the title, the first exclusive that goes to other platforms.
Fans Will Always Complain About Something
Many users responded to this complaint about having to do this, something that happens in almost every current live-service game, such as Fortnite. Others didn’t understand what the post was implying and criticized Nicola for complaining. Many joke about how Sony users are now like Microsoft customers; various users also said that this was some kind of move from the company to pump up the active users.
Sea of Thieves was one of the first Xbox One exclusives in one moment; the title was also available on PC, developed by Rare. With almost six years of release, the IP keeps launching content and even making some very popular collaborations with other names, like Pirates of the Caribbean or Monkey Island. With the introduction of this new platform, the game’s player base will continue to grow.
This game will be released on PS5 on April 30. A few weeks ago, Rare revealed this as one of the four games that will now be available on other platforms, no longer exclusive to Xbox. There are rumors that more exclusive titles will be released on other consoles very soon.
