Although PlayStation usually hosts conferences surrounding upcoming first and third-party releases in the form of their State of Play streams, the upcoming event will be the first PlayStation Showcase the gaming giant has done in two years.

Although details as to what is going to appear at the event are sparse, by taking a look at the 2021 showcase line-up that included reveals like God of War: Ragnarök, Marvels: Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine Game, Sony could be ready to come out swinging with some of their hard-hitting first-party titles.

The real question for fans and industry professionals alike is: What Can we Expect to See? Most likely the conference will show off more details about Marvel’s: Spider-Man 2 that is due to release in Fall of this year and if we are lucky developer Insomniac’s other game Marvel’s: Wolverine will finally get a long awaited gameplay trailer. The PlayStation Showcase could also see iconic studio Naughty dog reveal more about the upcoming Last of Us multiplayer game that was teased alongside 10th anniversary celebrations earlier this year.

On the tech side of things many a fan will be wondering with baited breath whether the rumours of a possible PS5 Slim or PS5 “Ultra” console will come true. Although there has been no official confirmation by Sony these possible upgraded version of the current system could see better graphics, faster processing times and even a sleeker more compact design with a removable disk drive.

In terms of our predictions, we here at FandomWire hope to see Solid Snake get in the saddle again with the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid Remake for PS5, that has many of our writers a buzz with excitement.
